ANNOUNCEMENT - IMPORTANT!

There are too many members in this club to keep checking every deviation. As it creates too many messages each time I log in, everyone will be removed from the club's devwatch. Therefore, if you have a piece of art that you would like added to the favorites, please send a note to the club -- don't leave a message on the main page, send a note -- with the link to the picture, and it will be added straightaway. CONTESTS!

Closing date: To be announced (when we have at least five entries, I'll set a closing date. ENTER!)

Contest #1: Create a DevID! Use any pirate-related material, fanwork or original, and make the club an ID. Ideas will be judged on creativity, originality, and... other stuff.

Contest #2: Create an icon that sucks less than the current one! The pirate-y-er the better! You know you want to.

Prizes... Anyone have any ideas? My scanner's currently broken, so I don't know about a gift picture... But if anyone wants to volunteer to draw a gift pic, or if anyone has any other ideas, feel free to send them to the club! Just note me!

RULES
(yes, there are some...)

It doesn't matter whether you're a fan of pirates in general, a movie/show/book/game with pirates in it, or are a pirate yourself with a talking parrot and a giant absurd hat. You just have to like pirates.

That being said, if you're a pirate poser who is only here because "JACK SPARROW IS MAI BI0TCH!!!111," then you've come to the wrong place, sistah. You shall be shunned and beaten. That said, liking Pirates of the Caribbean is definitely a plus. Just so long as that's not the ONLY pirate-related pastime you enjoy.

I have to say this, because I enjoy rambling greatly, and have some generally unpopular opinions... Discussion is encouraged, debates are smiled upon, but please, just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean you have to kill them. Yes, you can feel free to bash something -- that falls under freedom of speech laws. But bashing someone for holding a negative opinion about something is wrong, because it's their OPINION, and therefore no righter than yours. Just had to get that off my chest, because I've seen many a problem caused by that, many started by myself.

That's all the rules, really. Not too hard, is it?



JOINING

Wanna join the crew? Just send a note to the club, and we'll add ya ASAP! Comments left on the main page will be gotten around to late, if at all, so save yourself time and effort and just send a note, allrighty?

IMPORTANT!!!: You MUST make up a pirate name for yourself, and preferably a position on the crew (navigator, blacksmith, grog-swilling cranky old codger), no matter how lame. It's just so much more amusing that way.

NOTE: I no longer have a list of positions. If you want a certain position, check the members list to see if it's taken. If not, then it's yours. If you apply for it anyway, you'll be ignored. Of course, if there's more than one spot available for that position (i.e. rigging, cannons), then by all means, apply.

ANOTHER NOTE: I'm tired of people applying without reading the rules. If you don't have a piratey-name, then you don't get to join. I won't reply to your application, because I'm mean and cranky and have no sympathy for people who don't pay attention to simple things like that. I AM DEAD SERIOUS. It's very annoying to have to reply to all the notes from people who don't apply properly. I have the time for it, certainly, but not the patience. All clear?



SUBMITTING ART

With the abundance of pirate-themed art and fanart out there, there could be quite a bit of this. Therefore, I'll set a few guidelines.

All art will be organized into deviation packs, by series or... something else. As the club's getting started, I don't know how much art we'll be getting, so I'll figure it out as I go.

If you have an artwork to submit, fanart or otherwise, just send the link in a note, and I'll get it up straightaway!
